ORANGE – Former state legislator Denise Andrews was overwhelmed by Carl L. Sauter of Forest Lane for a three-year seat on the Water Commission in Monday’s annual town election.

Sauter got 221 votes to 71 for Andrews.

The other race Monday was for a three-year seat as cemetery commissioner. Incumbent George C.F. Willard of West Orange Road beat John D. Waters Sr. of South Shore Drive, 157-137.

And the Selectboard’s vacant fifth seat for three years was filed by William J. Wrigley of Walnut Hill Road, whose ballot opponent withdrew from the race. The Selectboard has been without a fifth member since May last year, when former Selectboard Chairman Richard Sheridan resigned. Wrigley got 255 votes.
