Bernardston, my home town since 1968, is blessed with the following: A candle factory, a new pot farm, a Dollar General coming soon, an increasing tax rate, a regional school system going broke and a fire department settling for two expansion bays off the end of their old building. What we don’t have is a throng looking to build an $18 million library.
If I were elected mayor of Bernardston, our candle factory would pay double taxes. The pot farm on Route 10 would be trashed and our new fire department built there. If DG wants to move in, they must first pay all expenses for our new fire station.
Any new businesses thinking of entering Bernardston, must insure that Pioneer never goes into the red.
