I’d like to point out misinformation that was mentioned at the Warwick Community School forum recently and printed in a Feb. 14 letter to the editor.
Warwick Community School is not the only Level 1 school in the area; elementary schools in Pioneer Valley Regional School District have not been given “Level” ratings since the Next Generation MCAS was implemented three years ago.
When the last Levels were reported in spring 2016 Bernardston, Northfield, and Warwick were all at Level 1. The DESE 2018 Accountability Classification rates Bernardston as Meeting Targets and Northfield and Warwick as Partially Meeting Targets.
These Level 1 claims that are often cited are misleading the public and unfair to other district elementary schools.
