Every time I build up some pride in my community, and then drive over the General Pierce Bridge, that pride is dashed. What a horrible bridge? A death trap. A disgrace. An embarrassment.
And I understand that we had the chance to replace it years ago. What this town needs is a beautiful new bridge. Something to be proud of.
