Mother Goose on the Loose: 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. Kay Lyons leads a lap-sit story hour for children ages 3 and younger (with a grown-up). Lyons reads books, leads the group in hand rhymes and uses puppets to teach animal sounds and other concepts. Each session is 45 minutes, with a half-hour of structured activity and about 15 minutes of visiting time.
Writers’ Lunch Workshop: This two-hour writing workshop runs on Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. Joannah Whitney leads the program, which includes writing exercises and discussion as well as an opportunity to share. Participants are encouraged to attend the open writing periods during the week.

Reducing Pain and Inflammation with Essential Oils: 6 p.m. Essential oils can decrease inflammation, soothe nerve pain, heal wounds and decrease the need for strong pain medications. Nora Zinan, a registered nurse who practices holistic nursing, will discuss pain holistically and how essential oils can address the many paths that lead to pain.

Teen and Tween Art Club: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sarah Ahearn Bellemare, author of “Painted Pages,” will lead an art, color and pattern workshop. This month, have fun with embroidery thread. Open to all middle and high school students.
Children’s Book Writers Group: 6 to 8 p.m. A critique group for adults who write for children meets in the Greenfield Room every third Tuesday of the month. Nell Wright facilitates the group. Participants will discuss skills, tips and opportunities for development, and read and discuss their stories.
