Behind a season-high 19 points from Matt Sicard, the Frontier Middle School boys basketball team capped a perfect 17-0 season with a 62-25 win over Greenfield Middle School in action Friday at Greenfield High School.
Sicard’s 19 points were team-high for the entire season. AJ Mihalak and Ty Sadoski scored 8 points apiece for Frontier, which had 12 different players score points in the win. It was the team’s first unbeaten season in over a decade.
Ryan Pulizari led Greenfield with 10 points, while Deion Brewington added 7 points.
• In the girls game, Madison McKemmie’s 19 points propelled Frontier to a 43-32 win over Greenfield in a game played Friday at GMS.
Frontier finished 15-1 with the victory in its finale. Hailey Hutkoski joined her in double figures with 13 points, followed by Bri Storozok (4 points), Molly Gates (4) and Olivia Noyes (2).
Greenfield (7-6) received a game-high 22 points from Amber Bergeron. Carly Blanchard added 4 points, Maggie Provencal tossed in 3 and Anna Bucala scored 2. Defensive standouts included Zoe Naughton-O’Connor and Abby Carlo.
