BERNARDSTON — A retail development was approved by the Planning Board last week, but nothing has been publicized regarding what store it will be.

The plan is for a 9,300-square-foot building that is about 18 feet tall and has a parking lot to accommodate 30 cars, according to the application submitted to the Planning Board. The building will be at 115 Northfield Road (Route 10), at the corner with Merrifield Road.

The name of the store was not mentioned in the application, and is not necessary for town approval. The developer, Lisciotti Development of Leominster, Mass., did not return multiple phone calls.

The plan was approved Dec. 6, with the Planning Board’s hearing having begun Nov. 1. The site is in a district zoned for business developments, making for a simplified approval process, Planning Board Chairwoman Chris Wysk said.

This week, Deerfield rejected a similar plan by Lisciotti, which was to be a Dollar General.
