Y Family Memberships: The Y offers three types of family memberships; two adults, two adults and all children ages 20 and under (or through age 25 if full time college student), and one adult and children ages 20 and under. A family membership provides activities for each family member seven days a week. There are activities that parents and their children can do together such as swimming, Family Fun Night, and playing in the game room. The Y also provides options where parents can do their activities while their children do their own Y class or activity. For example, parents can take a group exercise class or lift weights while their kids take a swim or gymnastics class or play in the game room. This provides one-trip, easy scheduling options to help each family member get valuable exercise, relax and have fun. Financial aid can cover 20-70% of all dues and class fees. See sliding fee scale chart at ymcaingreenfield.org or call 773-3646 Ext. 0.
Scuba Experience: On Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m., the Y’s scuba instructor Dave McDonald will be offering an intro scuba experience for kids ages 8 and over and adults. This is a great opportunity to see and feel what scuba is all about. From 12:30-1:15 is a class room presentation and 1:30-2:15 the group will be in the pool. This ‘experience’ would make a great holiday gift for someone who likes to try new things. The fee is $30 and enrollment is limited. Call 773-3646 Ext. 0 to register.
Y Gift Certificates: Y gift certificates, starting at $10, make great holiday gifts for grandkids, kids, parents, grandparents, or anyone else on your list. The certificates can be used for day passes, classes, summer camps, memberships, massages, and more. Give the gift of movement, relaxation and fun at the YMCA.
January/February Class Registration: Registration begins Dec. 10 for Y facility members and Dec. 17 for all others. Youth classes include swimming and gymnastics lessons, Parkour, superhero training, basketball skills for 4-12 year olds, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do and more. Adult classes include water therapy, water fitness, basic strength training, Live Strong, diabetes care and more. For details, see ‘Brochure’ at ymcaingreenfield.org or call 773-3646 Ext. 0.
Child-watch for ages 8 weeks to 6 years: The Y provides a low cost drop-in babysitting service for children 8 weeks to 6 years of age, while their parents are utilizing the YMCA. The room is divided into areas for different age groups with staff led activities. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. and Monday through Friday, 4:15 to 7:30 p.m. The fee for up to 90 minutes is around $4 with a punch card. Sliding Fee Scale: The YMCA is a nonprofit, locally funded, charity that is welcoming to all and has pricing for all. The Y’s sliding fee scale is available for all memberships and classes and can cover up to 70% of fees for qualified individuals and families. Fifty percent of the $450,000 utilized by local kids, seniors and families each year is provided by local generous donors to the Y’s Annual Sustaining Campaign, and the Franklin County United Way. The sliding fee scale chart is available at ymcaingreenfield.org or at the YMCA. The chart is based on household size and gross total income. Call 773-3646 Ext. 0 for information.
