I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the overwhelming number of people in our community who have worked on behalf of and or expressed support for our new library.
So many have worked tirelessly to bring a new, modern, state of the art library to Greenfield. Whether through actively being involved from the inception of the idea, urging their Councilors to vote yes, writing letters to the editor, speaking at Town Council meetings, proudly displaying lawn signs, being photographed for our posters and bookmarks, talking to their neighbors, visiting other new libraries in our state to help ensure our new library will be the best it can be through what they learned, attending public meetings arranged to inform about the plans for our new library. I could go on and on about how our community has come together to make it happen.
It is clear that our community understands the benefits for now and for generations to come. So many wonderful, enlightened people continue to be willing and eager to help.
The best moment for me was when I realized the community conversation had changed from “if we will build a new library” to “when we will build a new library.” Thanks to all of those who have been a part of this exciting effort.
All we need to make this a reality is for our Town Council to vote yes at their December meeting. Please continue to contact them and make your voice heard.
