DEERFIELD – A temporary certificate of occupancy for the Cumberland Farms at 31 Elm St. has been renewed.

The company failed to open a required entrance ramp on Greenfield Road by Nov. 10, when the original temporary certificate expired. Deerfield Building Inspector David Jensen said he has recently seen work being done on the entrance ramp.

“It’s looking pretty good to me,” he said. “They seem to have done a nice job, as far as I can tell.”

Jensen said he does not know when the new temporary certificate of occupancy expires.

A Cumberland Farms employee, who asked to not be identified, said the entrance ramp is expected to be paved and opened within three weeks. The bridge is already built, connecting Greenfield Road with the portion of the Cumberland Farm’s location. The convenience store/gas station opened for business Sept. 29.

The work is being conducted by Petroleum Engineering Inc. of Bellingham. Equipment was seen resting at the scene earlier this week.
