I wanted to congratulate Principal Jean Bacon on her hard work on improving the standards at Pioneer with the school achieving such a high level of rating from the state in the recent assessments of school that came out with the MCAS scoring results.
It was a real pleasure to see a wholly positive article about Pioneer in the Recorder as this type of press can only improve the school’s reputation. Having worked with Ms. Bacon on the Academic Excellence PVRS parent group, I know that this work is a direct reflection on Jean’s commitment to working with each student to achieve their goals and being flexible and innovative in this work.
Many of the positive changes that have happened at Pioneer, including more access to graduation, college, AP classes, internships and improved learning goals can be traced back to her. The school is lucky to have her.
