GREENFIELD — The new Planet Fitness franchise opening next to Staples in the Big Y plaza on Mohawk Trail, is expected to open in early December. According to general manager of the new gym, Karen Berman, construction is ongoing and they expect pre-sale will occur in mid-October.
Berman said while there have been some hold-ups that have delayed the opening, the business is back on track.
The facility will be open 24 hours beginning on midnight on Monday through Thursday with Fridays hours from midnight until 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays will have operations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Planet Fitness franchise owner Tom Sullivan, from LLMT, LLC, is opening the gym. He also owns a Planet Fitness in Gardner.
The location, next to Staples, occupies a retail space that was previously left vacant following a downsize of the office supply retailer’s Greenfield store.
