NEW SALEM — The Quabbin Valley Pro Musica (QVPM) begins its fall season of choral rehearsals on Monday, with music director Geoffrey Hudson.

Rehearsals are held on Mondays at 7 p.m., in the Central Congregational Church. The QVPM, resident chorus of the 1794 Meetinghouse, is an open, four-part chorus (soprano, alto, tenor and bass). Those who are interested in joining are encouraged to attend the first rehearsal.

The chorus is comprised of roughly 50 choral members, with Judy Johnson as collaborative pianist. Chorus members come from the North Quabbin and Pioneer Valley regions.

Concerts include a varying number of instrumentalists and the occasional guest soloists. The music is primarily classical choral works but also includes modern compositions. Dues are $50 a season.
