All of the age groups meet at the Greenfield Community College soccer fields on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Soccer is a great sport for children with lots of cardio and very little standing around. League fees are $30 for Y Gold Family Members, $60 for Y Silver members and $90 for nonmembers. Financial aid is available to cover up to 70 percent of the fees.

“Live Strong” at the YMCA: Cancer survivors know the tremendous toll the disease and treatment can take on the mind, body and spirit. “Live Strong” can help with the healing process and help people reclaim some health and strength. “Live Strong” is a free 12-week program held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. beginning Sept. 18. Funding provided by donors to the YMCA. Call Jayne Trosin at 413-773-3646, ext. 448 for more info. There is space for 12 people.

Gymnastics Team Placement: The YMCA in Greenfield’s Tumbling Tigers Gymnastics Team is holding two days of team placement evaluations. The team is open for youths ages 6 to 16. Youth Swim & Gymnastics Lessons: “Strong Kids Equals Confident Kids” is the motto for this year’s Y swim and gymnastics lessons. The Y offers lessons for youths ages 1 to 12, September through June. The September/October session begins Sept. 4-11. See the brochure at ymcaingreenfield.org for all swim and gymnastics information or call 413-773-3646, ext. 0.

Water Therapy Classes: Water therapy classes are for anyone who wants to exercise gently in an aquatic environment. The soothing buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure of water make this program ideal for relieving pain, stiffness and fatigue. The water provides gentle resistance to build muscle strength and support joints to encourage free movement. Balance, flexibility and core strength will be improved. The Y offers Water Therapy I classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 4:45 p.m. Water Therapy II classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:15 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 3:45 p.m. See Page 13 of the brochure for details and prices or call 413-773-3646, ext. 0. Financial aid is available.
