CHARLEMONT — The Charlemont Fire Department will receive $5,848 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG).
The purpose of the grant is to meet the community’s emergency response needs of fire departments and emergency medical service organizations. Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources to protect both the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.
