In a crowded field of good candidates, we support Natalie Blais as the next state representative for the 1st Franklin District.
Natalie has the experience and expertise to hit the ground running, which is what we need in order to continue the excellent representation we’ve enjoyed from Steve Kulik and Stan Rosenberg. Kulik and Rosenberg’s departures from the Legislature leave a void that Natalie can, and will, fill.
Natalie is a hard worker, with the experience, strong voice and progressive point of view that our region needs. She is committed to strengthening the rural economy, our schools, our businesses and our social safety net. Natalie has already proven her abilities and her commitment to our region through her roles as aide to Congressmen John Olver and Jim McGovern. She oversaw the operations of the UMASS chancellor’s office and now is a visible and effective leader of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
The relationships that Natalie developed with other community and political leaders while serving in these roles will be one of the keys to her success as our state representative. Many local leaders have endorsed Natalie, including Olver, Rep. Kulik, former Reps. Jay Healy and Ellen Story, Sheriff Chris Donelan, District Attorney David Sullivan, Register of Probate John Merrigan, Mayor David Narkewicz and Shelburne Selectman Andrew Baker. They know what we know: that Natalie is a smart, effective, thoughtful and committed public servant who will ensure that what matters to the people of western Massachusetts will matter on Beacon Hill, too.
