Comerford’s the right person

Jo Comerford worked as the executive director of the National Priorities Project. If you are not familiar with that organization, its mission was to try show voters how the federal government spends our money, and what our taxes are used for. This “transparency” in government is needed today more than ever before.

Jo’s attitude has been that state and federal government is not too complicated for the average citizen to understand—and that all citizens must be informed if our government is to be held accountable. After sending out emails to voters for years as a campaign director for MoveOne.org, Jo knows how to use social media, how to mobilize support, and how to make government more responsive to the people it serves. When I heard Jo speak at a neighborhood house party, I knew she was the right person to elect to the state Senate on Sept. 4.
