Southampton scored five times in the fifth inning to pull away from Frontier Red for a 15-3 victory in a Suburban League 12U softball game over the weekend in Southampton.
Frontier ended the regular season 6-6 overall and will host Frontier Blue tonight at 5:45 at Merritt Field in Sunderland in the opening round of the playoffs.
Hailey Hutkoski had two hits and two RBIs in the loss, while Ashley Taylor, Lucia Doulette and Jessica Campbell each had a hit.
Lilla Montminy made an outstanding defensive play.
Mixed Doubles Tournament
The Greenfield Tennis Association is holding a Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament Saturday at Beacon Field Tennis Courts.
The tournament begins at 9:30 a.m. and entry fee is $10 per team and an unopened can of tennis balls. All fees go toward court maintenance and equipment.

Bridge of Flowers sign-ups
Registrations are still being accepted for the 40th annual Bridge of Flowers Road Race Classic, which takes place Saturday in Shelburne Falls.
Online registrations can be done at www.shelburnefalls.com until Wednesday night. In-person registrations will also be accepted Friday night during the free spaghetti supper, as well as on the morning of the race, each at at the Buckland/Shelburne Elementary School.
Anyone completing the 8K classic will be awarded a medallion to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the event.
