ASHFIELD — The Ashfield Community Hall and Community Preschool are holding an auction on Sunday at 1 p.m., with the preview starting at 11 a.m.

The auction takes place in the Community Hall (the former Grange) at 521 Main St. Besides many interesting items and about two dozen gift certificates to local businesses, the work of many Ashfield artists will be up for auction. They include works by glassblower Ed Branson, painter Jim Murphy, and watercolor artist Nina Anderson Coler. Also, there are two works to be auctioned by the late Mimi Pieropan.

Local auctioneer Mike Skalski will run the auction, and there will be refreshments for sale.

The auction proceeds will go to Ashfield Community Preschool and also to a new handicap-access fund created for the Community Hall, which hosts plays, concerts and other special local programs.
