CUMMINGTON — Cummington’s Kingman Tavern Museum, 41 Main St., will be open Saturdays through Aug. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. with a special exhibition in the Old Parsonage commemorating the museum’s 50th anniversary.

The Cummington Historical Commission will offer guided tours of the tavern, with self-guided tours available of the barn and carriage shed.

The exhibition in the Old Parsonage will include repeated showings of the U.S. government documentary, “The Cummington Story,” which tells the story of the World War II refugees who came to Cummington and the courage of the Rev. Carl Sangree, who convinced the town to take them in.

This exhibit focuses on the contributions these refugees gave to the community and the world. Many of the refugees who came to Cummington were artists, and the museum displays some of their art.

Refreshments will be served on the lawn, and picnicking is welcome. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
