SHELBURNE FALLS — Mail delivery has resumed on Masonic Avenue, according to Christine Dugas, a spokeswoman for the Connecticut Valley postal service district manager. Delivery was halted earlier this month, when a carrier was startled by a dog and was unaware that the dog was confined by an electric fence.
HAWLEY — Jon Gould, an aide to state Sen. Adam Hinds, will hold local “office hours” Wednesday, July 25, in the Town Office from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The purpose is to gather input from Hawley town officials and residents to help set legislative and programmatic priorities for the coming year. It is also to provide constituents an opportunity to get help with any issues they are having with state government.
HEATH — Heath will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday, July 31, at 6 p.m. to present a proposed MassWorks/STRAP (Small Town Road Assistance Program) grant application for safety improvements to Burrington Road and to the section of South Road from Burrington to town center. ASHFIELD — The Community Hall (formerly the old Grange Hall) is once again holding an auction in partnership with the Ashfield Community Preschool, featuring antiques, artwork, goods and services from local businesses, and “whatever else we can come up with,” says Nina Coler, one of the organizers.
“Mike Skalski, a professional auctioneer, will keep things moving and entertain us as well,” she said.
The auction will be held at the Ashfield Community Hall on Aug. 5, starting at 1 p.m. Preview starts at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be available for sale. Proceeds will go towards creating a handicap accessibility fund for the Hall and ongoing funding of the Preschool. Anyone wishing to donate items or services may call Coler at 834-2465.
