This is in response to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Even in the days when Romans 13:1 was used to justify the divine right of kings and duty to obey the laws, this was never understood to include laws contrary to those of God. Example: If the ruler commanded a golden calf to be made and the people to bow down and worship it, shall we obey?
Three times, the Bible tells us not to oppress immigrants but to treat them as ourselves, for we ourselves were once immigrants. Further, we are to allow them the same rights as our own orphans, widows and poor to glean our fields and receive help from the poor tithe.
