George Mercorelli tossed a three-hit gem Wednesday night to send top-seeded Smitty’s Pub to a 4-2 win over fourth-seeded Gilmore & Farrell Insurance in the Greenfield Minor League Major Division semifinals at Lunt Field in Greenfield.

Smitty’s Pub will face second-seeded Maniatty Real Estate in the best-of-three championship series beginning on Monday at Lunt Field at 5:30.

Mercorelli struck out six and allowed just two walks and three hits in 5⅓ innings. Michael Pierce came on and struck out two batters for the final two outs of the game to earn the save.

Hugh Hart went 2-for-2 with a run scored in the victory, while Mercorelli, Tyler Yetter and Kendra Campbell each had a hit and an RBI. Brayden Thayer and Jackson Campbell each had one hit and scored a run, and Hugh Cyhowski had an RBI.

Jake Petrin struck out eight and walked just one in five innings in the tough-luck loss.

Ben Dodge hit a solo home run for Gilmore & Farrell. Petrin had a hit and scored a run, and Bryce Avery had an RBI single.

• In other action, Ryan Pulizari had a huge day at the plate and on the mound to help second-seeded Maniatty’s to a 14-9 win over third-seeded New Fortune Restaurant.

Pulizari clubbed a home run and and doubled at the dish, and also pitched the final three innings of the win and struck out nine.

Dylan Archer earned the win and had two hits, and Devin Dubee added two hits.

Cody Houghton had two hits for New Fortune, and Ethan Quinn and Heath Gomez each doubled.

Bobby C’s wins title

Oscar McDonough went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Bobby C’s DJ Service to a 11-10 win over Cohn & Company in the GML AA Division championship game Wednesday night.

Ethan Hanon went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and Paxton Phelps was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Desmond Drake went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored, and also struck out six on the mound. Austin Drowski, Bryce Drowski, Rowan Lewis and Bennie Santiago each had one hit.

William Renaud had three hits for Cohn & Co., while Connor Bergeron struck out three in one inning on the mound. Bergeron, Tommy Clary, Kooper Leger, Julian James, Aaron Meuse, Jordan Welcome and Jacobo Bartolon each had a hit.

Sandy Koufax

Sean Kirkendall had three hits and one RBI to help Frontier Alber Hearing Services to a 11-1 win over Westfield Two in a Pioneer Valley Youth Baseball League Sandy Koufax game on Wednesday.

Gehrig Brynda had one hit and three RBIs in the win, while Kyle Barnes doubled and drove in a run. Ben Zaranek, Tyler Baranowski and Maxwell Edwards each had one hit and one RBI. Matt Como doubled and Kevin Baumann singled. Baranowski earned the win.

Youth softball

Suburban 12s

Mackenzie Paulin and Katie Trenholm had the only two hits of the game for the Greenfield Grizzlies on Wednesday night during a 12-2 loss to the Southampton Heat in a Suburban League 12U softball game at Parker Field in Southampton.

Sofia Holden struck out five in the loss.

• In other action, Margaret Edwards had two singles and a double but Frontier Blue fell to West Springfield, 7-4.

Parrish Stilla, Abi Hernandez, Allie Pierce and Abby Patterson each scored once for Frontier.
