GREENFIELD — This week, the construction work erecting the parking garage off Olive Street has shifted into a new gear. One section of the four-floor garage went up quickly as large pre-cast sections of the concrete were brought to the site by oversized trucks.
According to Mayor William Martin, the project is on pace to finish sometime in the middle of October, ahead of the deadline of Oct. 31. When finished, the mayor said the project is expected to cost $10.1 million.
The garage will offer 272 parking spaces, and include electric car charging and a pedestrian elevator, according to Martin.
