COLRAIN — A barn that was under construction was damaged and moved off its foundation, Fire Chief Nick Anzuoni said, following the storm that moved through the town Monday.
The barn, off of Roberts and Reil lanes, likely took the biggest blow from the storm that sent straight wind gusts moving up to 70 mph through town, Anzuoni said.
Route 112 and Green River Road were hit hardest, mostly leaving tree damage, the chief said. There may have been a loss of a few farm animals because of the storm, he added.
“It would rate as a bad thunderstorm,” Anzuoni said. “It could have been a lot worse.”
By Wednesday, town crews were finishing cleaning up tree debris.
