WENDELL — After being re-elected to another three-year term on the Selectboard about a month ago in an uncontested race, Jeoffrey Gavin Pooser has announced his resignation.

Citing a need to focus on his family, Pooser wrote in an email to Wendell residents Thursday night that it was a “difficult decision, because I truly love the town.”

After about nine years serving Wendell, Pooser will end his time on the Selectboard June 28, he said.

“There is only so much time in the day, and my plate has been overwhelmingly full for years now,” Pooser said in the message to the town. “It has become clear to me that at this point in time, I need to prioritize and focus on my family.”

Pooser was not available for further comment before press time when reached by email Thursday night.

There will be a special election to fill the position in September, he said.
