LEYDEN – The woman who died in a fire that destroyed a Leyden home Monday has tentatively been identified.
Although the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has yet to officially confirm her identity, the woman killed is presumed to be Mary Novak-Morgan, 59, who lived in the home, according to the Northwest District Attorney’s Office.
Novak-Morgan lived at 178 Frizzell Hill Road, the house which was described as “totally gone” after a fire raged through it Monday afternoon.
The woman was found dead around 6 p.m. Monday, according to Police Chief Dan Galvins. The woman’s husband was at work during the fire.
The cause remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
