Clinical Notes, Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s women’s a cappella chorus, will perform its annual summer concert, “We’ve Got the Whole World in our Songs,” on Tuesday, June 12, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the hospital’s conference rooms A and B.
The concert is free and open to hospital staff, patients and visitors, as well as the general public. Donations are welcome.
This year’s concert is international in flavor, featuring songs from the U.S., England, Scotland, Spain, France, Austria, India, China and South Africa. Kathryn Aubry-McAvoy of Turners Falls directs the chorus, while Phyllis Stone of Erving is manager and assistant director.
“To the best of my knowledge, Baystate Franklin is the only hospital in western Massachusetts with its own a cappella chorus,” Stone said. “We are proud that we have kept the chorus going for 15 years now, and most of our members have been with the chorus since its inception.”
The 13-member, self-supported chorus, established in 2003, consists of present and former hospital employees and volunteers, and family members or friends of staff. Members come from Colrain, Erving, Greenfield, Haydenville, Leverett, Northampton, Shutesbury, Turners Falls and Worthington.
Clinical Notes performs two annual concerts — a holiday concert and a summer solstice concert — as well as a mini-concert at Baystate Franklin’s annual Chocolate Fantasy in February.
