Babysitters Certification: The Babysitters Training Course will give you knowledge of what parents expect in a babysitter and the skills to handle any babysitting situation. This course is recommended if you are interested in childcare or becoming a camp counselor. You must attend both days for certification. Ages 11 and up. June 4 and 5, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at 20 Sanderson St. $52 residents, $62 nonresidents. Registration deadline May 28 with a $5 late fee.

Learn to Play Tennis: Sign up today for our tennis clinic. Come learn some of the basic techniques to play and score. All youth participants completing one or both of these sessions receive a tennis racquet and can of tennis balls. Sessions held on Sunday, June 3, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, June 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Davis Street Courts. Register at least one week in advance. Space is limited.

Teen Open Mic Night: Musicians, poets, comedians and performers grades 5 to 12: It’s your turn to take the stage! The Greenfield Recreation Department will offer its second teens-only open mic night on Friday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Energy Park in downtown Greenfield. Entry is free for participants and observers. Sign-up begins at 5:30.

Learn to Play Pickleball: Curious about Pickleball’s growing popularity, but unsure of how to play? This one-day clinic will provide an introduction to the rules and game-play of this widely accessible sport. Open to new players of all ages, bring the while family. Equipment will be available for use. Clinic is for ages 6 and up and takes place Saturday, June 9, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Green River Park Pickleball Court. Free.

Bike Rodeo: Greenfield Recreation, the Greenfield Bicycle Coalition, the Kiwanis Club and Safe Routes to School are organizing a Bike Rodeo. Come learn how to safely navigate the streets while biking. Practice on an interactive course. The rodeo will include bike safety, helmet safety check, and more. A limited number of free bike helmets will be available. Grades K to 4 and grades 4 to 8 will meet Saturday, June 9, from 1 to 2 p.m; less experienced riders from 2 to 3 p.m.; and experienced riders from 4 to 8 at the Greenfield Middle School.

Hillside Block Party: Join us for this year’s Hillside Block Party with music, games, inflatable activities, food, friends, neighbors and fun on Thursday, June 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hillside Park.
