Jonathan Ainsworth recorded six strikeouts on the mound and had three hits, including a triple, to go with five RBI at the plate, leading Nap’s Auto Sales & Service to a 20-15 win over Tognarelli Heating & Cooling in a Greenfield Minor League Baseball AAA game Tuesday night at Vets Field.

Reid Hager struck out four in three innings of work and totaled two hits offensively for Nap’s, while Hunter Donahue pitched the final out and tripled at the dish. Mason Fiorey was 4-for-4 with two doubles.

Tognarelli’s Hayden Girard was 3-for-3 to pace his team’s offense, while Cody Yetter struck out four on the mound and Rylin Koschinski added two strikeouts to go with a hit offensively.

• Elsewhere, Aiden Shea did a little bit of everything to help Denny’s Pantry past Aubuchon Hardware, 13-6, at Lunt Field.

Shea had four hits and a pair of RBI and closed out the final two innings on the mound with six strikeouts. Teammate Caleb Johnston smoked two triples and drove in four runs. Erik Martineau added a double and two RBI. Also aiding the cause was Judah Glenn with two hits, and the pitching tandem of Arthur Fitzpatrick and Camden Guertin.

Ethan Mauthe totaled three hits to lead the offense for Aubuchon, which also received two hits from David Knox and a hit each from Nico Siano, Brody Welcome and Jack Laurie.

• In other AAA play, Jackson Petrin and Elias Urquhart combined for six hits, and Freedom Credit Union edged Rotary Club, 15-11, at Lunt Field.

Chase Zraunig and Silas Muzzy chipped in with two hits and two RBI each, with Muzzy picking up the win in relief. Tad Loud played well defensively at second base.

Rotary received hits from Michael Cyhowski, Jaida Menard, Jackson Glazier, Brayleigh Burgh, Gavin Arsenault and Aiden McGuinness. Arsenault did an excellent job behind the plate, and Menard made several nice plays at second base.

Newt Guilbault

A huge all-around effort from Jake Jurek and a home run from Logan Addison propelled Pipione’s Sport Shop to a 17-2 victory over Booska’s Flooring in a Newt Guilbault Community Baseball League game Tuesday night at Campbell Field in Turners Falls.

Jurek earned the win on the mound and smacked five hits, including a triple and three doubles. Addison finished just a single shy of the cycle to help the offensive effort, which also received contributions from Leo Reiber (single), Derek Wissmann (single), Matt Crossman (single, double) and Liam Black (two singles).

Brady Booska’s two singles led the way for Booska’s Flooring. Darian Burnett (single) and Max Brunette (two singles) also came through with offensive production.

Youth softball

GGSL

Big offensive nights from a variety of players sent Pipione’s Sport Shop to a 25-7 win over Descavich Plumbing in a Greenfield Girls’ Softball League Ponytail Division contest Tuesday night at Murphy Park.

Alysia Knapp led the charge with three hits and four RBI, and teammate Eva Ferreira had two hits and four RBI. Also making contributions for Pipione’s were Josalyn Eastman (double, three RBI), Anna Bucala (double, three RBI), Haylee Tuttle (hit, two RBI) and Kylee Gamache (hit, RBI).

Descavich’s Addie Rotkiewicz led her team with a hit and an RBI, while Abby Hood also smacked a hit and drove in a run. Carly Blanchard slashed a hit for the squad.

• In Lil Nippers action, Payton Martin drove in the winning run and finished 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Gilmore and Farrell Insurance to a 4-3 win over the Purple Panthers.

Gilmore and Farrell pulled ahead in the fifth on Martin’s hit. Teammates Layla Hammond and Ella Guyette were each 2-for-3.

The Panthers received a 3-for-3 night from Emily Cleveland, and Chloe Bigelow added two hits and solid defense.

Tri-County League

Elise Benitez struck out seven in three innings, and Calla McKeon added three strikeouts to go with a hit and an RBI, as the Bernardston-Northfield Cougars defeated Hinsdale Blue, 15-5, in a Tri-County League youth softball game Tuesday night.

Elena Witherell smacked a grand slam in the win, and Emma Peterson and Emily Canon each singles.

Julia Hammond struck out six in the circle for Hinsdale, which received a triple and two singles from Bianca Larue to go with a single from Madison Hughes.

• In other TCL action, Sofia Holden struck out six in two perfect innings, and combined with Catie Trenholm to turn a triple play between first and third bases in the final inning as the Bernardston Blaze defeated Hinsdale White, 16-6, at Pratt Field in Bernardston.

Nina Holden recorded three strikeouts in two innings for Bernardston, which also received strong work in the circle from Avery Johnson.

Hinsdale’s Samara Clark and Renee Crosby combined to handle their team’s pitching duties.

Adult softball

Greenfield Co-Rec

Jen Antonellis registered five hits and four runs scored and The Spirit Shoppe thumped Hubie’s Tavern, 31-13, in a Greenfield Co-Rec Adult Softball League game Tuesday night at Greenfield Middle School.

Heather Gagne was 4-for-7 with two runs scored and Jeff Lapointe was a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs in the win for Spirit Shoppe.

Hubie’s was powered by Stef Williams, who was 3-for-5 with two runs, and Adam Williams, who was 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

CCG Ladies

Phyllis Canon’s 43 was good enough to give her low-gross honors Tuesday as the Country Club of Greenfield’s 18-Hole Ladies League played just nine holes due to rain.

The net winners were Michele Hazlett and Donna Woodcock, who tied at 38.

Margo Worden won the Second Division low gross with a 47, and Irene McDonald’s 31 snagged low-net honors.

Edge Hill Men’s

Brett Sallee had the top point quota of plus-1½, winning the A Division at Tuesday’s Edge Hill Golf Course’s Men’s League.

Sallee had the low net of 35, while Mark Graves, Dave Cote and Mark Eaton took low gross at 39. John Walsh was closest to the pin on No. 16 at 3 feet, 1 inch.

In B Division play, Jon Sonntag carded a plus-2 point quota and had the low gross of 45. Butch Whitson’s 40 was enough for low net.

Matt’s Men’s League

A round of 36 from Charlie McCracken wound up as the low gross to pace the Matt’s Men’s League Tuesday night at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.

Rob Broussard’s 27 was the low net, while Wayne DeGrenier had the closest to the pin on both No. 7 (6 inches) and No. 9 (17 feet).

Most points on the week (6) went to the duos of Mark Letourneau and Al Ghiz as well as Bill Kimball and Bob White.

Miscellany

Montague Warrior Dash

Area youths ages 5 to 12 are invited to take part in a new Warrior Dash Adventure/Obstacle Course Race set for June 9 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Elementary School in Turners Falls.

The Montague Parks and Recreation Department and The Friends of Hillcrest Elementary School are partnering to bring the community its first adventure/obstacle race. Participants will be given the task of racing through a pre-designed course with multiple obstacles, and will compete in separate age categories (5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12) with boys and girls winners crowned in each category. The course may vary between some age groups.

Fees are $10 for Montague residents, and $15 for non-residents. The event is rain or shine. Shirts and sneakers are required (no sandals or open-toed shoes). Proceeds benefit MPRD’s scholarship program and the Hillcrest Playground Project Fund.
