COLRAIN — There are no election contests on the ballot, but several incumbents are seeking re-election on May 7.

Polling takes place at Town Office, 55 Main Road, from noon to 8 p.m.

At this week’s candidate’s night in the Griswold Memorial Library, Selectboard Chairman Mark Thibodeau said he is running for his fourth term of office. “I love it,” he said of his work as an elected official. “I like what I do.”

When asked by residents what are the main issues facing the town, Thibodeau replied, “One thing I really want to see come true is broadband. In the last two years, we’ve really come a long way.”

Other town officials seeking re-election to three-year terms are Assessor James Slowinski, Library Trustee Nancy Turkle and Constable Melinda Herzig.

Megan McDonough, who served as town moderator this year, is not on the ballot, but she is running as a write-in candidate for a three-year term as Town Moderator.

A second, open Library Trustee position on the election ballot does not have any candidates.
