NORTHFIELD — The two Selectboard candidates will meet with members of the Senior Center Friday at 9 a.m. for the Senior Center’s monthly “This is Your Town” breakfast. Also, Selectboard Chairwoman Tracy Rogers will be present to discuss the warrant articles for the May 7 Annual Town Meeting.
Senior Center Director Heather Tower said that the meeting will not be a debate, but a chance for each candidate to make a statement and for attendees to ask questions.
Tower said that there has been a tradition of a Selectboard member coming to the April “This is Your Town” breakfast to explain the Annual Town Meeting warrant. The candidates’ meet-and-greet is an addition to that.
“This is an opportunity,” Tower said. “People are going to be allowed to ask whatever questions they want.”
Because food will be served, attendees must register ahead of time by calling the senior center. The breakfast starts at 9 a.m. Rogers’ presentation will begin around 9:30, and will be followed by the candidates’ conversation.
