While on vacation in the “far left” politically correct state of California, in the Palm Springs area, I happened to drive by the Palm Springs High School campus. There it was on the front of the school entrance lobby: “Indians” with a lance and feather through the name of the school logo, mascot, 30 feet in length in big, bold letters above the front door.
Take a good look, Gill-Montague School Committee members and Turners Falls High School administration. Think about it and revisit the issue and return TFHS original nickname and logo. By the way. Yuma, Ariz., has the athletic teams called “criminals,” or “crims” for short. Their mascot wears prison stripes as a reminder of the town’s history as the Arizona territorial prison site before statehood.
No offense taken in either town’s schools.
