NORTHFIELD — The design plan for the new Schell Bridge is expected to be revealed at the Schell Bridge Committee’s meeting Thursday.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Northfield Elementary School Cafeteria.

Thursday’s meeting will be the last in a series of meetings on the design of the bridge. At past meetings, attendees contributed ideas for the design. Eight different designs were created, of which three were chosen by vote as possibilities. WSP Engineering, the design firm hired by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for the bridge project, is expected to announce which design was chosen and why at the meeting.

WSP may also address whether or not the bridge will be able to support cars, said Judy Wagner, the chair of the Schell Bridge Committee.

Future plans and an agenda for future meetings will be determined on Thursday.
