TURNERS FALLS — Selectboard members have unanimously agreed to release executive session minutes relating to former Police Chief Charles “Chip” Dodge’s negotiations with the town.

Executive session minutes from meetings held on the evenings of Feb. 5, 2018 and Feb. 12, 2018 will be available as public record as of Tuesday, March 20, on Montague’s town website.

There may be additional executive session minutes released on a later date, but Town Administrator Steve Ellis said that some of the information may require protection under personnel rules, which would prevent it from being released.

Earlier this month, Dodge and Selectboard members recently came to a mutual agreement where he voluntarily resigned as chief after alleged mishandling of the police department’s prescription dropbox and not informing his department that he was receiving treatment for opioid addiction.

While Dodge will have no active or passive role with the police department, he will remain on paid administrative leave until Feb. 12, 2019.
