ASHFIELD — After serving six years on the Selectboard, Selectman Ron Coler is not seeking re-election to another three-year term on the board.
In a letter Coler wrote in the monthly Ashfield News, Coler said his time on the board was very rewarding. “Now, as I look forward to regaining a bit of my personal life, I can truly state that it has been a privilege to serve with, and work alongside, Tom Carter and Todd Olanyk,” he wrote.
SHELBURNE — Town Clerk Joseph Judd is looking for residents to help make the town’s 250th celebration, from June 22 through June 24, something to remember. In Shelburne Center, events will include blacksmithing and wood carving demonstrations, a quilt show, and self-guided tours of 100-year-old farms.
Other planned events in the village is a dinner-dance Friday night at the Shelburne-Buckland Community Center, a Saturday parade from Cricket Field to Buckland Shelburne Elementary School (local community floats welcomed), fireworks, a Civil War Camp re-enactment and other events. Watch the fireworks from the elementary school grounds, where there will be food and crafts vendors, square dancing and music.
Volunteers who can help work on some of the events may call Judd during office hours, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 625-0300, ext. 3
