People of many faiths filled the Second Congregational Church in Greenfield Sunday night for “One Light, Many Candles,” a performance by Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary and his wife, the Rev. Betty Stookey.
The show, part of the church’s 200-year anniversary celebration, is a combination of song and spoken word meant to unite those from different religious backgrounds.
The Rev. Stookey, who spent eight years as chaplain of Northfield Mount Hermon School, has said the performance is a way to get people to see the possibility of a united world, where differences in religion aren’t an issue.
