GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Recorder will hold a second forum for at-large Town Council and School Committee candidates on Thursday evening.
The forum, called “Decision Greenfield 2017 Part 2,” will feature at-large council and School Committee candidates who are running for the Nov. 7 annual town election. It will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the GCTV studio, 393 Main St., and is free and open to the public.
Questions will come from a panel that will include a Recorder reporter and a League of Women Voters of Franklin County member from Greenfield. Candidates will also field questions from the public and from moderator Chris Collins, a Recorder political columnist who has also covered local news for WHAI over the years.
Thursday’s event follows last week’s forum for council candidates in precincts five through nine.
“The Recorder, like our partners, sponsors these political events because we strongly believe in the importance of civic engagement and an informed electorate — at all levels our government — but especially here at home,” Recorder Editor George Forcier said before the first forum. “We have tried to structure these upcoming forums to give voters a chance to see the candidates handle impromptu questions from political reporters and from the voters themselves. How well they handle themselves and their answers should help Greenfield’s residents made a more informed decision come Nov. 7.”
The forum will be aired live on GCTV and streamed live on Recorder.com.
It is being sponsored by The Greenfield Recorder, partnering with GCTV, WHAI/Bear Country radio stations and the League of Women Voters of Franklin County.
