Drew Conant went 8-for-12 for 124 yards and two touchdowns but Greenfield Middle School fell to Frontier Middle School, 16-14, in a football game on Tuesday.

Darien Dejesus caught a 31-yard touchdown from Conant, and Dion Brewington caught a 42-yard touchdown pass. Conant also rushed for a two-point conversion in the loss.

Bob Provost rushed for 94 yards, and Ryan Pulizari rushed for 34 yards to lead the Green Wave rushing attack. Provost, Pulizari, Brewington, Dejesus and Conant each played well defensively.

No Frontier information was provided.

• Elsewhere, Jayden Carey scored a 60-yard rushing touchdown, but Mahar Middle School dropped a 20-12 decision to Great Falls Middle School in a middle school football game played Tuesday.

Austin Matthews ran for a 5-yard touchdown for Mahar, which received a fumble recovery from Deavin McGivern. Connor Sluder added multiple tackles for losses.

Great Falls did not provide any information.

Greenfield men

Quarterback Pat Viencek threw touchdown passes to Jake MacLeay and Curtis Weaver 0and Between The Uprights edged Sirum, 13-6, in a rematch of last year’s championship game Sunday in Greenfield Men’s Touch Football League action at Green River Park.

Ben Banash, Cole Blanchard and Cody Underwood also had strong games for BTU.

Sirum QB Jesse Phelps led his team to within a touchdown, finding Chucky St. Hilaire for a 13-yard score. Chris Hart and Tyler Leroux had strong games for Sirum in a losing effort.

• Elsewhere, Nick Aldrich powered Rocketfusion.com to an 18-12 victory over Hubie’s Tavern.

Aldrich tossed three touchdowns, connecting with receivers Jordan Markham, Deshon Sanders and Tyson Dowdy. Sanders added two interceptions on defense, while Evan Rice and Eric Alicea also had solid outings in the win.

Hubie’s made a strong effort toward the win, with quarterback CJ Brady finding Antonio Rodriguez for a 61-yard TD pass. Brady also ran in a 10-yard touchdown, while Mac Perry and Jae Roberge had strong defensive games for Hubie’s.

Youth sports

GHS fall clinic

The Greenfield High School Key Club and Athletic Department are hosting a Youth Sports Clinic for children kindergarten through fifth grade on Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the GHS gymnasium and athletic fields.

Sports that will be offered include football, soccer, volleyball, field hockey, cross country and cheering. Participants will be able to learn from GHS athletes.

Orange rec basketball

Registration is underway for Orange Recreation Association girls’ basketball grades 4 through 7. Notices were distributed last week to local schools, however, any area girls (grades 4 through 7) who can get to the gym by 4 p.m. on school days are welcome to play.
