Natalie Denkiewicz scored four times on Monday afternoon and Frontier Regional School defeated Pioneer Valley Regional School, 4-1, in an independent girls’ soccer game in Whately.

Denkiewicz opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the first six minutes of the game. She gave the Red Hawks (9-1-2) a 1-0 lead in the first minute when she buried her 15th goal of the season on an assist from Maddie Crocker. She made it 2-0 in the fifth minute on an assist from Claudia Rajballie.

Denkiewicz scored the lone goal of the second half five minutes into the frame on an assist from Rajballie, giving her 18 goals on the season.

“It’s hard to guard her because she is so fast and she is very direct with her moves and she can shoot the ball with both her left and right feet,” Frontier coach Phil Pittelli said. “She is doing a better job of picking her head up and trying to find the corner.”

Lexa Boyden (three saves) and Crocker (one save) split time in the Frontier net for the win. Leah Fuess made 13 saves in the loss.

SBS 5, Four Rivers 3 — Anna Goldstein scored twice on Monday but Four Rivers Charter School suffered a 5-3 loss to Stoneleigh-Burnham School in a River Valley Athletic League girls’ soccer game in Greenfield.
