SHELBURNE FALLS — Local candy maker, Mo’s Fudge Factor, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a presentation of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” at the Potholes Pictures this weekend.

The 1971 musical fantasy follows a child who wins a golden ticket to tour the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory, and must navigate the quirks and challenges of the factory along with Willy, portrayed by Gene Wilder.

The Frost Heaves and Hales provide local music both nights at 7 p.m., playing both original music and some of the movie’s beloved songs. The movie starts at 7:30 both nights at Memorial Hall, 55 Bridge St.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. Mo’s Fudge Factor will be giving away cupcakes while the Frost Heaves and Hales performs the “Oompa Loompa” song. The shop is located at 9 State St., a short walk from Memorial Hall. Children and others are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Wonka character, for a parade across the Iron Bridge, down to the movie. Mo’s Fudge Factor will create special Wonka candies for the event, and offer free bubbles Saturday with each movie ticket. Proceeds from the Wonka candy sales will go to benefit Pothole Pictures.

Tickets for Potholes Pictures are $6 per adult and $4 for children.
