Barb Ladd and Diane O’Connell took first place after posting a round of 36 at the Ashfield Community Golf Club Thursday Morning Women’s League.
Mary Stokarski and Bev Williams finished in second place with a 38.
GMS beats Athol
Christopher Ryan ran for a touchdown and a two-point conversion and Drew Conant connected on a touchdown pass to Deion Brewington as Greenfield Middle School edged Athol, 14-12, in a game played Tuesday.
Andrew Hanley and Brewington came up with a big stop on Athol’s first two-point attempt. Rowan Boudreau had a fumble recovery to pace the Greenfield defense, while Khalil Brown, Eric Duong, Dylan Mahar and Aiden Fulton led a strong effort by the offensive line. Drew Conant, Ryan Pulizari, Joe White and Darien Dejesus also played well defensively.
SBS volleyball
Greenfield’s Elizabeth LaValley recorded six aces, seven digs and two kills, and Stoneleigh-Burnham School held on for a 25-15,21-25,27-25,16-25,15-10 win over Forman School in prep volleyball Wednesday.
Bri Rooks had three kills and three digs, while Olly Ajao added nine kills and six aces.
Northampton Coed league
The Northampton Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its Coed Volleyball League.
Each team plays a 15-game regular season followed by a double-elimination playoff. The begins in mid-October and continues through December. Registration deadline is Oct. 2, and all fees, proofs, rosters and signed player conduct forms must be turned in by this time.
