Darren Lenois (plus-9) closed out the second half as the top finisher after play Wednesday night, and he’ll lead a pack that qualified for the season-ending playoffs at the Knights of Columbus Golf League held at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.
Jim Herzig and Stephan Smith tied for the top weekly point quota on the night at plus-5.
Winston LaBelle (plus-8), John Plotkin (plus-8) and Jack Cominoli (plus-7) all qualified for the season-ending playoff.
Ray Zukowski was closest to the pin on No. 7 at 8 feet, 7 inches, while Cominoli was closest on No. 9 at 7-4.
Thomas Ladies League
Jane Smith fired the low gross, carding a round of 41 at Wednesday’s Thomas Memorial Ladies League.
Terry Rae had the top weekly point quota at plus-5, followed by Jeanette Lawrence and Jane Smith at plus-1.
Rae was closest to the pin on No. 7 (17-3), while Lawrence hit her drive closest to the line on No. 6.
Don Maynard Race
The 23rd annual Don Maynard 5-Mile Road Race and 3-Mile Walk is scheduled for Sept. 16 at the Green River Swimming & Recreation Area.
The race is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start, and runners/walkers can register online at www.runreg.com or go to the Maynard website (www.dmmrace.com).
