TURNERS FALLS — This Saturday, the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter will be hosting its fifth annual Mutts in Need event at the Millers Falls Rod and Gun Club in Turners Falls.
The event starts at 3 p.m. and tickets cost $25, which covers food and live music. There will also be raffles and a live auction. Shelter Director Leslee Colucci said the live auction begins at 6:30 and the event should wrap up around 8 p.m.
She said money from the event will go toward covering the shelter’s veterinary fees, which total around $30,000 every year.
Colucci said the auction items include quilts, Molly Cantor pottery, a zip line package, along with different-themed sports, entertainment and children’s packages.
Alumni dogs of the shelter will be at the event, with a video of what they looked like when they came to the shelter versus what they look like now. The event will also have live music, from the band “The Dogwalkers.”
Dogs are welcome but the shelter asks that owners keep them on a leash during the event.
