John Ollari and Kelsey Brianna had three hits apiece and Travel Kuz held off Artscape Landscaping, 10-7, in a Montague Co-Rec Adult League softball game on Monday night at Unity Park.
Brittany Senn and Dylan Mailloux had two hits each in the victory for Travel Kuz.
John Dawicki and Dakota Dodge both finished with two hits for Artscape, while Cassidy Snyder tripled in the loss.
Mark K. Memorial Mixed
The team of Steve Roy, John Davis, Brian Prondecki, Jan Small and Don Shebeil combined to shoot 56 and snag first-place honors at the Mark K. Memorial Mixed League on Monday night at Oak Ridge Golf Club in Gill.
Bob Wondoloski, Winston Powell, Doug Field and John Rutka took second place with a 58 on Monday.
CCG Women’s League
Liz Dolby’s low gross of 41 gave her top honors in the A Division at the Women’s League at the Country Club of Greenfield Monday as the league held a Play Loud, Laugh Loud, Dress Loud outing.
Sue O’Connor was the low-net winner in the A Division with a 35.
T.C. Emerson was the low-gross winner in the B Division (51), while Sally Bernard was the low-net winner with a 37.
In C Division play, Shelly Uguccioni (54) and Donna Mowry (35) were low-gross and low-net winners, respectively.
Greater Hatfield Open
Nick Sulda, Mat Sulda, Colin Dowd and Aaron Dowd took top foursome honors with a 59 at the annual Greater Hatfield Open held at the Country Club of Greenfield on Sunday.
Paul Barnard, Elaine Barnard, Brian Barnard, Jeff Jackman and Jake Willis were the top fivesome with a 57.
2017 SGA
Several area figure skaters had strong competitions last week, as they took part in the 2017 State Games of America Figure Skating Competition in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Aviana Bouchard of Greenfield scored three gold medal as well as one silver, one bronze, one fourth-place ribbon and a sixth-place ribbon in Michigan.
Greenfield’s Amelia Bouchard also scored a gold medal as well as two silver medals, one bronze, one fourth-place ribbon and one fifth-place ribbon.
Colrain’s Maggie Provencal won a gold, a silver, a bronze, a fourth-place ribbon and a sixth-place ribbon.
Giorgia Santore of Sunderland claimed two golds, a silver, two bronzes and two fourth-place ribbons.
The skaters trained during the summer months at Keene Ice in Keene. They represented Ice Skating Industry (ISI) as well as the United States Figure Skating (New England West Skating Club).
Don Maynard Race
The third annual Don Maynard 5-Mile Road Race and 3-Mile Walk is scheduled for Sept. 16 at the Greenfield Municipal Swimming Area.

Montague Mug Race
The 37th annual Montague Mug Race is scheduled for Aug. 19, with the 5.5-mile road race “blasting” off at 8:30 a.m. from the Village Common.
Pewter Mugs are awarded to top male and female finishers, and coffee mugs will go to top finishers of each division. T-shirts are given to the first 90 runners. The course is well marked with plenty of water stops, and features a few challenging hills with a run along the Connecticut River.
Now in its 13th year, the Mini Mug Race will kick off at 8:35 a.m. This course measures two miles and is a great scenic route around the Old South Cemetery. Both races will finish at the ball field. All runners are entered into drawing for local prizes.

Old Coach A 5K
Registration is underway for The Old Coach A 5K Run, intended to be a celebration of the coaching career of Southwick High School’s Dick Atkinson.
Coach A, a 1984 inductee into the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame, is a legend among runners in Western Massachusetts. During his 53-year tenure at Southwick he trained numerous WMass, State, and New England individual champions and earned numerous league and divisional team championships. Coach Atkinson is the founder of indoor track in the Pioneer Valley, a league which has grown to 27 teams. Proceeds from the race will be used to fund scholarships for runners and to promote youth running programs in Western Mass.

Babe Ruth Fall Ball
The Franklin County Babe Ruth Baseball Association will hold registrations for its Fall Baseball League on two upcoming dates:
On Saturday the league will hold registrations from 10 a.m. until noon, and on Sunday and the league will hold registrations from 1 until 3 p.m. All registration sessions will take place at Abercrombie Field in Greenfield.
The Fall League is open to anyone ages 12 through 14. Babe Ruth is the next step for those players aging out of Cal Ripken next season and Fall Ball is a great introduction to a full-size diamond.

PV pole vault school
The Pioneer Valley Pole Vault School in Bernardston is open by appointment for individual and group lessons through the fall with negotiable rates.
Lessons will be taught by Pioneer Valley Regional School track and Northfield Mount Hermon pole-vault coach Jim Bell, himself a Masters pole vaulter.
