MONTAGUE — This Saturday, Turners Falls will be the start and end point for the River Valley Ice Cream Ride.
The event includes three different rides: A kiddie scoop loop (seven miles), a single scoop loop (25 miles) and a double scoop loop (50 miles). All proceeds from the event go to Franklin County charities and nonprofits. The first loop begins at 9 a.m. at Unity Park in Turners Falls. The event is hosted by River’s Edge Cycling, and Bart’s Homemade Ice Cream is the ice cream partner for the event.
The loops go through Northfield, Gill, Sunderland and Deerfield. The kiddie loop runs along the Canalside Rail Trail.
All profits will go toward several organizations, including Turners Falls RiverCulture, CISA, and MassBike Pioneer Valley. Registration is closed for the races. For more information on this and other River’s Edge Cycling events, visit riversedgecycling.com.
