6:26 p.m. — Robert Larson, 30, of Turners Falls was arrested on a fugitive of justice warrant. A caller reported a lot of yelling and screaming at a Fourth Street apartment, leading to the arrest of Larson. A copy of the warrant was obtained from Cheshire County in Keene, N.H.
12:29 a.m. — Elena Dean, 25, of Charlemont was arrested on charges of failure to yield at an intersection and operating under the influence of drugs. Police stopped Dean at Federal and Lincoln streets.
12:46 a.m. — A caller reported a male starting a fight at Rite Aid on Main Street. The male was reportedly intoxicated. Police located one party in the fight but said that nothing became physical.
8:18 a.m. — Matthew P. Durand, 34, of Chicopee was arrested on charges of failure to use care to start, stop, backing and turning, a marked lanes violation, operating under the influence of drugs and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police received a call of an accident with no injuries at Pierce and Federal streets, leading to the charges against Durand.
9:15 a.m. — Report of a heroin overdose at Federal and Pierce streets. The person was given Narcan by Medcare and transferred to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
4:15 p.m. — Jonathan L. Sullivan, 38, of Rowe was arrested on charges of a subsequent offense of operating a motor vehicle after the right to operate is revoked, operating under the influence of drugs and possession of a Class A drug. Police also arrested Kenneth W. Ryan, 33, of Colrain on charges of being present where heroin is kept. Police responded to a caller stating an old green Honda sedan at Wendy’s on Federal Street, with four people in it and the driver seemed to be intoxicated and was urinating on the fence.
5:42 p.m. — Police responded to three gunshots in the area of 144 South Shelburne Road. The homeowner said there was a black bear that was attacking his livestock. He fired three rounds at the bear, from 500 feet away from his home and toward the ground, according to the police log. The bear was still in the woods but left after 20 minutes.
10:08 p.m. — Joseph M. Auger, 26, of Turners Falls was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and distributing the peace. A caller reported an assault to herself and her daughter by a male party who lives nearby the Fourth Street apartment building. Police then responded to the scene and detained Auger.
8:34 a.m. — A caller reported that a person broke his chair and filled his mailbox, on Union Street, with dirt. Police found the broken chair in the street.
4:17 p.m. — Robert E. Wainstein, 66, of Congress Street was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and possession of an open container of alcohol in his motor vehicle. Police received a report of erratic driving, possibly because the person was intoxicated, near Ruggeri’s Beverage store on Deerfield Street. Police then stopped Wainstein at Deerfield Street and Bank Row.
12:20 p.m. — Police responded to a report that a man who appears to be under the influence bumped into a pole protecting the gas pumps at F.L. Roberts on Third Street. Allen K. Vight, 64, of Glenn Brook Drive in Greenfield was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a licensed that was suspended or revoked for an operating under the influence offense. He was also charged with operating under the influence of liquor and operating to endanger.
2:24 p.m. — An employee at the Heat-Fab division of the Selkirk Group on Industrial Blvd. reported a large, black horse wandering around the parking lot. Animal control was notified and responded to the scene, where they did not find a horse in the area.
4:30 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a male who jumped off the 11th Street Bridge to swim in the canal. The person told the police he is from Worcester and decided to cool off in the canal after a beer tasting, the police log said.
7:22 p.m. — A caller reported a possible rattlesnake in his yard on south Prospect Street. The Massachusetts Environmental Protection Division advised him to call them if it is still there in the morning.
12:43 a.m. — Police advised seven people drinking in Green River Park about town park rules. The individuals then moved on.
1:06 a.m. — Police responded to a reported fight upstairs at Taylor’s Tavern. No physical violence was reported but there were a series of verbal altercations between several parties.
10:26 p.m. — Report of three males to be drinking inside Greenfield Garden Cinemas and refusing to leave. The three males eventually left.
10:33 p.m. – A caller reported that a woman in a black Jeep Cherokee in the CVS parking lot on Federal Street was asking where she was and seemed very confused. Police arrived and arrested Kristin N. Whitman, 26, of Shelton, Conn., on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
5:56 p.m. — Police responded to an overdose on Lilac Court, which MedCare then responded to.
6:37 p.m. — Police arrested Carl J. Bielunis, 31, of Bayberry Court in Greenfield on a warrant arrest, at Lilac Court.
4:08 p.m. — Seven hypodermic needles were collected at the Greenfield Swimming and Recreation Area.
9:16 p.m. — Police responded to an overdose in Energy Park. MedCare responded to the scene and transferred the person to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
5:20 a.m. — A deputy called from the Franklin County House of Corrections about a male inmate who hanged himself and was unresponsive, but breathing. The call was transferred to MedCare.
2:03 p.m. — Police responded to the Hillside Park after getting a report about a man blasting music in the area of Hillside Park. He was reported to have been in the presence of four females and five or six kids, smacking the females inappropriately to the point they were crying. He was said to be carrying a large fold-up pocket knife. The male told police he had two small pocket knives that he was using to cut apples. He apologized for the matter.
3:02 p.m. — Police arrested homeless Greenfield resident Danny Ayala-Calcano, 26, on a warrant.
1:38 a.m. — After responding to a three-car crash on High Street that sent at least two people to the hospital, police arrested Connor R. Zabko, 20, of Davis Street on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violations, operating under the influence of liquor with at least a 0.8 BAC level and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
11:01 a.m. — Police responded to a call from the National Suicide Prevention Hotline indicating a male in an online chat room indicated he intended to overdose via pills, and then left the virtual chat room. Police checked a tent site near Stop & Shop on French King Highway for the male. He was eventually found at the entrance of Big Y.
