GREENFIELD — A driver involved in a two-vehicle crash Thursday has been charged with a second drunken driving offense.

Two people are believed to have been transported to the hospital and one person was arrested after the truck-car crash at Elm and Colrain streets around 6 p.m.

Jonathan D. Jordan, 39, of Colorado Avenue was given a sobriety test. Police then arrested him on charges of a second offense for operating under the influence of liquor and for failure to stop or yield.

A Greenfield police officer carried several small bottles of alcohol away from the crash scene.

At the scene, the driver of a blue Chevrolet Aveo was kept in the car for about 40 minutes before being placed on a stretcher and taken by MedCare to the hospital.

A passenger of the car had walked out of the car before being transported to the hospital by MedCare, a witness said.

The front of the Chevrolet was damaged while a black, Dodge commercial truck did not appear to sustain damage.

As of 6:50 the scene was clear. One fire truck, one ambulance, two MedCare vehicles and at least four Greenfield police cruisers had responded.
