Art help wanted

SHELBURNE FALLS — The Art Garden is looking for volunteers to help prepare “art-making” materials for The Art Garden’s tent at the Green River Festival next month.

The Art Garden has a huge art-making tent where hundreds of people of all ages gather to create. The projects are designed and prepared so that children, teens, and adults can dive into their own creative processes (with minimal instruction) in a community atmosphere. Both new and used materials are used.

Volunteers will help prepare more than a 1,000 birds, fish, bees, balloons and butterflies, etc., cut cardboard that will be ready for paint and parading. They will also make canvas crowns and get all sorts of traditional art supplies ready for use.

Work bees are planned for Friday and Saturday, June 23 and 24, from 1 to 5 p.m., and then Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 27 through 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. Refreshments are included.

The Art Garden is located on Elm Street, next to the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum.
