ASHFIELD — A 20-year-old woman was taken to the hospital by helicopter Wednesday around 4 p.m. after falling about 35 feet into water at the Chapel Brook recreation area.

Fire officials said the woman sustained minor injuries and noted this is the first time someone has been injured there this year.

Emergency crews carried the woman uphill out of the woods about a quarter mile to an ambulance. LifeFlight was called as a precaution because of the distance she fell.

Ashfield, Williamsburg and Conway fire departments were called to help along with the Conway police and ambulance and Pioneer Valley EMS.
